Incident Response with UAS Integration

Note to Registrants: This is a combined course. Sept. 21-22 will be KY Emergency Managements "Lost Person Behavior" course (16 KLEC Hours); Sept. 23-25 will be KSPs "Incident Response with UAS Integration" (24 KLEC Hours). Upon Registering, students will be required to attend both courses (40 KLEC Hours). Students cannot claim KLEC credit if they have already taken the same course within a 3-year period.
This 40 hour course will teach students the topics of Lost Person Behavior and the integration of drone technology with law enforcement incidents.
Each student will receive training in UAS operations. Students will be given a mulitiple-choice exam and be required to pass a practical evaluation. Upon successful completion of the exam and practical evaluation, students will be certified to operation drones for KSP incidents.
Required Equipment:
- Each student should coordinate with their respective Posts to bring their agency drone for the certification day (no personal drones).
- Appropriate attire for outdoor activities (hiking shoes, rain jacket, etc.).
- Portable radio w/ lapel mic.
- MDT with charger.
