This course will provide sworn personnel with a structured overview of warrant service operations through the framework of decision-making, planning, and tactical methodology. Instruction will begin at the philosophical foundation of warrant service operations with emphasis on critical thinking concepts, and then transition into strategic planning models and tactical application considerations associated with warrant execution. Topics include risk analysis, controlling objective, the safety priorities, PIETO, the Commander’s Decision Analysis Framework, and the 7-step warrant service process. This course will assist you in establishing proven processes on how to safely and effectively execute a warrant, defining a “high-risk” warrant & when to call SWAT, and planning for the “Big 4” contingencies. This course is lecture-based and informational in nature and does not include practical, hands-on training.
